Welcome to the Engine Inn, a traditional Cornish pub, set in the heart of the West Cornwall countryside close to St Ives.

The Engine Inn’ is a traditional Cornish Inn situated adjacent to the main B3311 road between St. Ives and Penzance with spectacular moorland views from the beer garden to the rear. Within easy travelling distance are Zennor, with its legend of the mermaid, the Iron Age village of Chysauster, the world famous Minack theatre, overlooking the sea and Land’s End; as are the beautiful beaches and coves of this area. The pub has a large car park opposite, but with a public footpath running to the rear of the property and its own paddock, ‘The Engine’ is also ideally situated for walkers, cyclists and horse riders.

Parts of the building date back to the 1700’s and in its time it has been both the counting house for the local tin mine and a farmhouse, before its most recent incarnation, some decades ago, as a hostelry. Nowadays ‘The Engine’ is the only pub serving the hamlet of Cripplesease and the village of Nancledra and is a thriving ‘local’ at the very heart of the community.

We are fast becoming renowned locally, for the quality of our home cooked, reasonably priced pub food, based around fresh, locally sourced seasonal, ingredients.

We offer lunch and evening menus, families are encouraged, by offering a kids menu...

We have two comfortable en suite rooms in a separate converted barn. Both rustic style rooms are fully equipped with TV, hairdryer, tea/coffee making facilities and a small fridge. We offer all our guests free parking, large enough for motorhomes...
